Great opticians with such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in and provide a really personal, attentive experience. There’s also a great choice of frames. I’m very happy with the service and would highly recommend!

I ordered some glasses online from a different brand that required adjustments. Scrivens helped me and gave me a glassss case for each pair of glasses for FREE. When I was adamant on paying then declined my offer!
Not only was everyone super lovely and welcoming, but my glasses now fit amazingly.

I am not a patient at Scrivens but I needed help choosing sunglasses and distance glasses for my imminent cataract surgery so I visited Scrivens in Tilehurst, Reading. They were unable to help with the distance glasses although they would have loved to, but found me a great pair of polarised flip up sunglasses which are just brilliant now that I have had the surgery. I was particularly impressed by Ria and her desire to help as much as possible but the staff I met are all delightful. Thank you!

I recently had my eyes tested at Shriven’s Opticians in, Tilehurst Reading, and I’m very pleased with the service. Booking the appointment online was quick and easy, and I was able to get an appointment the very next day — unlike Specsavers, where I would have had to wait weeks.
As a pensioner, my eye test was free on the NHS, and I also chose to have the additional health checks on both eyes, which cost £10. This was well worth it for the extra reassurance.
I ordered three pairs of glasses, all at very competitive prices — just as good as any of the major high street opticians. The staff were helpful and professional throughout, and I’m really happy with the overall experience.
