Chesham Bois Manor Care Home in Chesham

My mother in law went into the care home in January. She had dementia and was at the point we did not feel she was safe to remain at home. We looked at a couple of homes, this one and a more modern one. We much preferred Chesham Manor. It has a feel of an old country house and my mother in law was delighted with the fact that she was in a lovely hotel. It’s really nice inside, with period detailing and a variety of different room types. More importantly we were delighted with the care she received. The staff were all attentive and kind in spite of the fact that MIL could be rude and sometimes insulting. ( in fairness, we did warn them!). It was lovely to pass responsibility for her over to someone else and know she was happy and safe.
Her health failed following a fall and I was brought to tears by the consideration and little homely touches that they gave her as she faded away. Even though she was drifting in and out of consciousness there were fairy lights, soft music, dimmed lighting and candles. Her bedding was soft and cosy and she was really well looked after.
We’d recommend the home without a qualm.
