From the moment you step in the atmosphere is relaxed , everyone is so kind and welcoming , its clean and the residents are happy . The food is lovely also.

Spent a day at the home recently in a work capacity and had a wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, Carole and the rest of the staff made me feel like part of the team; their friendliness is truly infectious. I was also struck by how spotless and organized everything is. It’s clear that a lot of pride and care goes into keeping the home tidy and comfortable.

Have visited several times in the past 2 years.
Location is on a peaceful rural road and the gardens are beautiful.
The entire team are always very welcoming, yet remain professional and its clear to see how hard they all work and how dedicated toward the residents wellbeing they are.
The variety of entertainment and activities are fabulous. Today I spotted a beautiful handmade remembrance poppy dress in pride of place in reception (nice respectful touch).
The team make a point of involving and encouraging residents and their families in activities whether its crafting, painting, baking, dancing, singing, or playing with visiting animals.
The key thing I noticed on my first visit (and all subsequent) is that there isn’t the “usual” care home smell (if you know, you know)!
Other than a cuppa, I have not tried the food but it looks and smells good and appears to be enjoyed.
Security is tight which is of course vital for the safety of everyone, particularly those with dementia.
The building and grounds are well maintained (although a coat of paint wouldn’t go amiss in a few places…..but I do appreciate how difficult it is to keep it permanently fresh).
I highly recommend Westlands if you’re looking for a residence for family/friends. Having seen a few care homes over the years, Westlands is definitely right up there. Credit to all the staff!!

I visit Westlands every week with my Pets as Therapy dog.
The home is extremely welcoming with fantastic staff who are dedicated to looking after the residents in a very caring way.
The activities coordinator is absolutely outstanding organising a huge variety of activities to involve as many of the residents as possible. These range from lots of different types of musical entertainment to seasonal projects, art, jigsaws, coffee mornings, tea parties and so much more. Family members are encouraged to join in and it’s great fun when all the staff dress up and get involved at special events. It is wonderful to see the residents faces light up and smile.

I am a vocalist and I visit Westlands on a regular basis to bring music to the residents.
The staff are amazing, whenever there is a special event, they all get involved and join in singing, dancing and laughing and they all dress up which is brilliant fun! The atmosphere is pretty special.
The activities co ordinator is outstanding in all that she does and I do see lots of fab people, Caroline is extra fabulous, her and the team of usually say, four get dressed up in ABBA, Beatles, 70’s/80’s etc and they throw themselves into creating a wonderful atmosphere for all the residents who just love seeing their staff all dressed up and having fun. The rest of the staff also come along and join in, its just so lovely for the residents and the families to be a part of. Faces light up when they put on a special event that Caroline has designed.
All the staff at Westlands are just so lovely and I see a lot of lovely residential homes and some just seem to stand out as being extra special, and Westlands does for sure.
Keep being you Westlands, you bring a lot of joy to lots of very special people.
