The Waveney House Hotel

Lovely place to stay, sitting right on the River Bank.
Fantastic food, both evening meal and Breakfast.
Would highly recommend if you are thinking of staying in this area.

We visited the waveney on Sunday late afternoon, we were a table of nine guest celebrating our mother’s 80th birthday, meals well all pre ordered, on arriving the carpark was empty other than a couple of cars, which was a slight concern, building and location is stunning set beside the river and well kept, we were greeted and seated! Not asked we wanted drinks. So I ventured to the bar nice selection of drinks. Then told they will bring them over, waited a little while for them, which was surprising considering how quiet they were. Once all our party had arrived they came and checked our pre orders, then brought out some nice olive bread and a small bowl of olives. We then waited quite a while for our meals to arrive, unfortunately they forgot one even though they had done the pre orders check not that long ago. The meals look good, my beef was tasty, but they were all cold, as if they had been pre made sitting there waiting to come out. Such a shame the prices were not cheap, my daughter had chicken tenders and a sprinkle of chips for £19. My roast was £24 if it was good I would not mind paying that price, but being cold let it down, our sister had arranged it all so we didn’t want to complain and make a scene and it was supposed to be a celebration in the nice location. Sadly because of the slow and lack of personal service, cold food and being over priced we shall not be returning or recommending! It’s such a shame lovely location but it’s no wonder why they were quiet if this is how it is run.
