Safehands Live in Care LTD

Would not recommend. A very negative and misleading experience with this Live-In Care agency. Multiple safeguarding issues occurred and was reported to management but no action was taken to investigate or rectify concerns raised. The dynamics between management and carers used was not a good mixture to co-ordinate care for people who are vulnerable and in need of support. They do a lot of lying and covering up between themselves and the agency is not well led as management are much involved.

Carers were not well trained, they all struggled with hoisting and were inexperienced in manual handling – they had to learn from the domiciliary carers who guided them. The carers vocally complained about the ‘work load’. PPE was either not delivered at all or delivered late. Safe Hands did not promptly inform the GP or family when medication had finished.

One carer assigned named Bigue took advantage of her role as a Live-in carer, she regularly went out of the house leaving my family member alone and vulnerable daily at various times early hours of the morning, day and night for smoking breaks. The door was left unlocked without a thought – she voluntarily chose not to use the key safe and was hostile and rude when spoken to. She openly spoke and joked about smoking and other things that was recorded on CCTV and there was evidence of this carer doing misconduct. I reported this to the manager repeatedly and asked for change but it continued to be disregarded. They did not care about the quality of care one received as long as there was a carer in the premises.

Brenda the manager is very unprofessional, she was patronising and sarcastic and tried to use her authority as a power tool. Safe Hands management frequently made subtle and suggestive threats to us around the status of the care package to have it revoked/reviewed. They made outrageous accusations and told several serious & unlawful lies against family. In communication Brenda did not help with high priority concerns and issues that were brought to her attention other than respond to emails to cover her back for negligence. These issues started early on and continued until the care provider was changed.

Thank you for your response. It goes without saying the nature of your reply verifies the points I made above. You have publicly proven it with more fabricated lies and the extremities you have gone to are shocking. The way you try to cover up & portray things is horrendous and shameful on yourselves as a company.
If top quality care is your ethos, the origin of funding and why care was needed is totally irrelevant to the fact that you did not provide the service being advertised to deliver, nor operate accordingly – which you were sourced and paid to do regardless and refuse to take responsibility. You are evidently at many faults.

Safehands Live In Care provides professional care services. Their care consultants are very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for qualified and reliable carers.

I couldn’t believe my luck when i found Safehands Live in Care , i was put at ease immediately with the great customer service i received and how quickly they managed to find my mother a carer, they are so professional about everything, and the prices are great too, i knew my mother would be in safehands while I was away on holiday,I would definitely use Safehands again and recommend it to everyone.
