Apartments in town centre, easy access to rail station, shopping centres, parkings and hospital. But wall are very thin, so not suggested for families with children. Neibhours create problems for your all the times and limits your children activity.

No parking place, hallways and lift dirty, look like don’t have cleaners… Rubbish outside under the bushes and around the main entrance. Poor service….

Weston Homes built high specification one and two bedroom apartments in the Morello Quarter development, which is in the town centre of Basildon. Its a two minute walk from the Basildon C2C train station, and that makes it an attractive investment/rental for commuters.
Apartments are finished to high specification and the build quality is good. Open plan living + kitchen areas come with solid engineered wood flooring, whilst the bedrooms are carpeted.
There’s no gas connection to these apartments as hot water and heating is all electric. The bills for electric are low as the apartments are energy efficient. There’s no separate charge for water usage, as its included in the maintenance charges.
Maintenance charges + ground rent together come to around £1,500 per year for one bed apartments.
Even though the build quality and specification is good, like all new constructions, some of us faced a few issues, but luckily these were all addressed by the customer service team at Weston Homes. Customer service could be improved to provide better response times, as we had to constantly chase for getting the issues addressed.
The underground parking is adequate, and is enforced by parking permits. But the parking gates keep breaking down due to poor quality installation by Weston Homes.
Overall a good development, nice and spacious, high quality apartments, close to the train station and shopping facilities, and good value for money, at least for now.
