We recently had our wedding at Barton’s Mill and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The whole team were so attentive, friendly, and helpful and the venue itself is absolutely beautiful.
The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. None of our guests left hungry, and we’ve had so many compliments about both the meal and the venue.
A special mention has to go to Flo, who was amazing at running the whole day. She was incredibly organised, efficient, and always on hand to help with anything we needed, making sure everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.
A huge thank you to everyone at Barton’s Mill for helping make our wedding day so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone planning their wedding.

Stayed for just one night but I’m sure that we’ll be back next time that we pass this way. Our room #9 was spacious, well equipped with quality tea, coffee etc and was spotlessly clean. The air conditioning unit was much appreciated as it was 33°.
All staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. There are a good selection of beers available and service was fairly quick considering how busy it was.
We ate in the bar which was nice but the restaurant is amazing with all the parts of the old mill visible.
We shared a Camembert to start followed by jerk salmon and a bacon chop with bubble and squeak. All very good as was the breakfast.
The location is ideal with river views from the large garden and various walking routes on the doorstep. We did the circular route through Old Basing village after breakfast which was lovely.
We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
Daisy Flowers
Ordered the fish and chips from the gluten free menu. They have a separate menu so be sure to let them know its the GF version. They use gluten free beer for the gf battered fish. I asked about fryers and they said they have a dedicated fryer. Service was great and the place was amazing. Very pretty outdoor seating next to a little river thats nive for a stroll. Indoor seating options as well. Parking was great. Food was good. Fish had a lot of batter if that’s something you’re into. The curry sauce we added on for the chips was delicious. They also have a few diff options for dessert too.

I booked a room here for my mum and I to celebrate her 50th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had a lovely time! Our room was upgraded and some treats were left in the room with a lovely birthday note!
The breakfast was nice, and there was so much choice. All of the staff were really lovely and attentive, and the scenery was really beautiful. We’ll definitely be going back to stay again!

I am not one to post reviews but just spent an overnight stay at Bartons Mill and have to say very much impressed with the overall experience. Exceptional room with everything needed, plenty of space and large bathroom and spacious shower. Evening meal most enjoyable with my wife and l both amazed by our choice of pork which literally just seemed to melt in the mouth. Breakfast too was substantial and set us up for the day (we didn’t eat again until getting home at 8 o’clockthat evening!). Quiet country location extremely pleasant and can imagine even better on a sunny summer’s day and evening. Would definitely recommend.
