Very disappointed with Ableworld stair lift. Had trouble with it after 13 months, paid for a Gold insurance cover (over £600) for 5 yr coverage and had loads of problems with it until now nearly 7 years later it is unrepairable. To buy another one from them I was quoted for a straight staircase from £1695 plus extra for the rail at a cost of £2690!!!! You are the only ones who charge extra for the rail !! …. I have now purchased another one, British made, at a cost of £1895 INC A RAIL!!! With a different supplier. So it a case of buyer beware from my experience.

Elderly mother with mobility issues purchased a chair from the Thatcham, branch having been impressed with the demonstration in the shop. However, within minutes of sitting in the chair that was delivered, it’s clearly not the same as the demonstrator – to the point that it’s too painful to remain seated in it. Returning to the store, it’s clearly a different experience. Just how many people visit this store and spend time sat in one of many demonstrators that would cause it to feel different to a brand new chair?
With no resolution from the store, now even head office are refusing to engage beyond quoting their “we don’t do refunds” policy.

My elderly father in law 87 lives in thatcham got a puncture on Saturday just across from the centre. He went across to ask for help. Told come back in 2 weeks. He had no way of getting it home had to wait nearby for 2 hours for family member to,pick him and buggy up. All it needed was an inner tube £14.95 on eBay !!!
