We are very pleased with the level of care Mum has received since she went into her lovely flat 3 years ago. The flats and the organisation of activities have been excellent, Mum is always busy doing something. And her great grandchildren enjoy visiting her there.

My 86-year-old mum has been living at Abbeyfield West House for three years, and we truly couldn’t be happier with the care and comfort she receives. Her apartment is fabulous, with a beautiful view overlooking a peaceful field filled with cows and sheep — it brings her joy every single day.
The carers are exceptional: kind, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything she needs. Their compassion gives us complete peace of mind.
There’s also a fantastic range of daily activities perfectly suited for the residents, from Scrabble and armchair yoga to film afternoons in the spacious TV room. Mum always has something to look forward to.
We honestly cannot fault a thing. Abbeyfield West House has created such a warm, supportive, and uplifting environment.

Very pleased with the kindness and support shown by the staff to my mum. It’s good to know there are people on site who can give a bit of extra support when needed but lovely for mum to have her own, easy to maintain flat as well. The accommodation is lovely, with great views over the well kept grounds and countryside. There are activities on site and meals provided if wanted and comfortable communal areas for residents to use.

Everything about the environment within Westall House Independent living is excellent. The quality of the accommodation and surroundings, both internally and externally is fantastic. Mum’s apartment is fully equipped with everything she needs for independent living and the staff are all wonderful and as a family it gives us great comfort that Mum is safe here. The only reason for 4 stars is that although the surrounding countryside and views are wonderful, Westall House is very remote and therefore we feel that if more organised trips and events were arranged then Mum and the other residents would benefit greatly from much more social interaction, which was one of our main hopes when she moved in. We also feel that if there was more regular and organised interaction such as trips to the shops in local towns, local gardens etc then possibly there would be more uptake in the occupation of the currently empty apartments, which we feel could make the business case for any expenditure/effort more viable. Lastly we would just like to say thank you all for supporting our Mum in such a kind, caring and professional manner, we really do appreciate it.
