I had a routine eye test and then chose glasses frames at John Lewis Reading David Clulow Opticians today. I was served by Sophia and Sandeep was the optometrist. I was warmly welcomed by Sophia and then had my eye examination with Sandeep. Sandeep was friendly & courteous and explained everything she was doing + the results in a quiet, gentle comprehensive way, answering any questions I had. She was professional and reassuring. Sophia helped me choose frames and was very patient and kind, suggesting frames she felt I might like. On choosing my frames, she then took me through the ordering and payment process in a very professional way. She is a lovely, smiley person and nothing was too much trouble. She even very kindly tightened my existing glasses for me! I can’t recommend the service at John Lewis highly enough and Sophia and Sandeep are great ambassadors for David Clulow.

Honestly, big disappointment for me. Being one of the most expensive opticians you expect more commitment in regards delivery time for prescription glasses. Been advised that the order will arrive no later than 2 weeks, 16 days later called and the glasses are “still with the lab”, cannot advise how long will have to wait still. You pay the most and you get the least apparently.

Prescription was incorrect on purpose (confirmed by the optitian), got redone (which i have no confidence it will be right), been told the new glasses would be ready in 2 weeks only to receive a call after the time to say it will not be ready until at least 3 weeks (this only because i called inquiring if it was ready). For the price paid i would expect better service.

I recently visited the David Clulow Optician at John Lewis in Reading to look for eyeglass frames for my son. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm and professional service we received from Pammy.
She was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, patiently explaining the different frame features and helping us understand which styles would best suit my son’s face and age. Pammy went the extra mile to find the perfect fit and even invited my son for an eye test to ensure everything was right for him.
We were truly impressed by her professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine care for her customers. Pammy is a fantastic representative of David Clulow, and she absolutely deserves recognition for her excellent service.

Very impressed with the professional and technical service from the staff in the opticians at JL in Reading. They were very friendly and helpful and showed an obvious interest in helping me choose my next pair of new glasses. They were honest, pleasant and offered me frames I had not even considered. From Nisha to Pammy & Lydia, everyone was pleasant and reassuring.
