The reason I am giving two stars is because it’s not all of the staff here. But there is one staff member. I think her name is Maddie? Well this is the name I have given to CQC anyways. As I have been there a couple occasions where she is rude and the way she handles the residents has not gone unnoticed. One day she was in the dining room and there was a resident in a wheelchair facing the wall? Like they had been punished for something, in pure silence. And maddie was in there. Did not engage with her, like the resident didn’t even exist. It was very distressing to see. She has a rude attitude and behaves like she doesn’t want to be there, no person centred care and very abrupt. On one occasion, she was on a personal phone call whilst a resident was asking for a drink, so I gave them a drink from the water station. Appalling

My husband has now been a resident for just over a year, and I can’t fault the kindness, care and compassion from the lovely staff at Cedarwood. I am able to cope better with his loss to me because I know he is well looked after and he is happy there. The relief of anxiety about his welfare is so important. The staff are wonderful and really care about all the residents and he couldn’t be in a better or nicer place. Thank you all so much.

I would like to say a massive thank you to Sam the manager of Cedarwood House and all her excellent team , for all their devotion, care , dedication and professionalism with my mum . My mum has dementia and her journey has been quite a difficult one , but with the constant love and help shown to mum , I feel that’s she safe and I know she feels that it’s her home . If I ever have any questions, I can always talk to a member of staff day or night , it really is like a little family. Sam and karis work tirelessly to get the right help for the residents, their team of wonderful carers understand mums needs and know her very well, they genuinely really care . The food is always freshly cooked and there’s always a warming atmosphere. Thanks Cedarwood .

My husband moved to Cedarwood House in June 2024. I was very anxious about the move but the care and understanding shown by the staff settling John in was exemplary. Eight months later John is totally settled and is incredibly well looked after. The staff know the residents very well there is a great atmosphere and nothing is ever to much trouble. It feels like being part of a family visiting Cedarwood.
