This week, I had the pleasure of delivering training to the team. I was made to feel like an honoured guest. Nothing was too much trouble. I got to engage with the superb team and its managers. The home was clean, bright and inviting. The residents were well cared for and supported. A clear 5-star review, I wish I could have given 6 stars on behalf of Sussex Training Academy. Thank you for a wonderful day, and I look forward to my next visit. Well done to you all!

I have had the pleasure of taking photographs of the residents on various occasions and I’m always impressed with how well the home is run. The staff are really helpful and approachable and the residents are obviously very happy. There is a really lovely atmosphere.

I have twice visited Saxonwood and it’s clear that the residents are happy and well cared-for. It comes across as the care home equivalent of a good local hotel – with the addition of community spirit. One resident I spoke to told me she had been there 13 years and was very happy. Food is prepared with fresh produce and the finger-food I tasted was of the quality that would be served by caterers hired for an event. While I was there, a resident pressed the emergency call from his or her room and 4 or 5 members of staff ran down the corridor to answer it. Entertainment is laid on by both enthusiastic staff members and outside performers – and of a good standard. If I ever needed residential care myself, I’d like it to be here!
