I visited Ashcombe House recently and came away really impressed. The atmosphere was warm and calm rather than clinical, the staff I met were friendly and clearly knew the residents well, and the residents themselves seemed genuinely content and settled. There was a singalong going on in the lounge and several residents and families were joining in. It’s reassuring to see a care home that feels like a home.

Ashcombe House is a wonderful, family-oriented care home.
From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. It’s a small, well-managed home where every resident is treated with genuine care, dignity and respect.
The administrator is incredibly supportive and always makes time to listen, despite having a busy schedule. The carers are truly exceptional—kind, compassionate, attentive and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure residents are comfortable, happy and well cared for.
I would highly recommend Ashcombe House to anyone looking for a safe, caring and homely environment for a loved one. The dedication and kindness of the whole team really shine through every day.

Ashcombe House Care Home is a fantastically run home, beautifully clean, decorated and furnished, when our Mum moved in she was welcomed by the General Manager Louise and all the fantastic staff. There was nothing they wouldn’t do to make her comfortable, if there was a particular food or drink she fancied they would endeavour to provide it. There are always activities and trips going on which Mum enjoyed. They treat visiting family and friends with care, there is always fresh coffee and cake available as you arrive. When Mum was very ill she was treated with love, care and dignity, we were allowed to stay with her overnight and fed and looked after. I would like to thank once again all the staff at Ashcombe House

My father has been at Ashcombe House for 2-3 years now and we couldn’t have made a better decision moving him into this caring, friendly home. Not only are the staff and management kind and caring to their residents, they go above and beyond to make sure relatives and visitors are made welcome and involved. Such a fantastic variety of entertainment as well including music and dancing , so many different animals visiting including penguins and squirrel monkeys!
Needless to say Ashcombe House comes highly recommended by myself and my family.

As soon as I walked into Ashcombe House, I knew it was the perfect place for my mum to reside. I was greeted by Louise, the General Manager, and she showed me around the beautiful lounge and cafe area downstairs and the lovely dining room and bedrooms upstairs. Louise is a very upbeat person who makes you feel at home and answered all my questions and nothing was too much trouble. Since my mum has moved in we have both been very impressed by all the staff. They are so caring and have made my mum really welcome and comfortable. There is always plenty going on if you want to join in. Equally you can spend time in your room or the garden, whatever makes you happy. My mum settled into Ashcombe House very easily after living a very independent life only weeks before. I put that down to the family feel of the home and the dedication of all the staff. I would recommend Ashcombe House to anyone that was looking for a safe friendly and well run home for a loved one.
