Excellent care for my elderly friend, whom suffers with complex needs. The nursing staff ensure every little concern is dealt with immediately and the care staff are always present for every need of my friend. She enjoys all of her foods and she is given plenty of fluids throughout the day. Because of her personal needs , she’s find group activities that are offered in house daily, too difficult to participate in, but she receives these activity choices on a one to one basis by the excellent activities team in house, so she never misses out.

From recent personal experience, Ashminster is great as a care home for able bodied people. Sadly, cannot rate it at all as a nursing home. Hoping, the new manager will see this, and improve the quality of care to those who need it the most. It doesn’t help that Ashminster always appeared to be short staffed in the care staff department. I run the hairdressing salon, that is purpose built for the residents at Ashminster House. I have found all the staff to be helpful and friendly to their residents and relatives that come in to visit their loved ones. Everyone is so caring and attentive, I would have no hesitation in choosing Ashminster House for a relative of mine. Therese Reeves

My Dad, D.Smith was staying at Ashminster House for a little respite break. When I went to visit with my adult son, we had such a lovely suprise. The staff were so kind and welcomed us. The home is big, bright and spacious…like a lovely modern hotel or cruise ship. Dad was so well cared for here. He was clean, smart and comfy. The place is immaculate, comfortable and fresh air ( no nasty smells or stuffiness)…His room was private and comfy with lovely clean on suite bathroom. One of the staff opened the fridge to make some drinks etc……it was sparkling clean. It was cosy there with a lovely old black and white film on the TV. The staff were very responsive and spent time with the clients, sitting with them, chatting and supporting. I myself am a registered Nurse of 25 years, as a Sister, District nurse and also briefly as a midwife. I have never been in such an excellent home as Ashminster House!. I felt happy and relived that my dad was truly cared for in such a kind and respectful way. Very highly recommended. Well done to all the staff there. Thank you for being such good and professional care teams. x

Since 2010 I’ve visited several family and friends whilst they were at Ashminster House. I always on-looked residents being treated with care, understanding and respect. The home always presents a clean, tidy and pleasant environment, whilst staff always project as a friendly team attentive to their surroundings.
Recently, my dad needed some short-term care and Ashminster House seemed a natural choice, however’, sadly, ‘dad’ went into another home but looking forwards if he is to required more care in the future, I would insist on the benchmark of standards that are set by Ashminster House.
