All care homes are NOT the same!!! I was repeatedly told mum didn’t want to wash or get out of bed. I regularly found mum uncared for and she even had a urine infection and eczema was allowed to spread.
She would say getting dressed hurts!!
The management and staff did not support me, it was a constant battle.
I saw distress and pain on the residents faces.
It took me two years to convince social services.
Mum finally moved last week and she is now happy and joins in with activities!! I hope this might encourage some disheartened relatives to fight for your loved ones it is worth it.
