The room was covered in a layer of dust and it had a smell coming from the bathroom.
But what made us never want to return was the lack of hospitality from restaurant. The staff treated us as if we were a bother. We have never felt more unwelcome.
You have been warned.

I was disappointed that the first serving member of staff was not welcoming. I had replied to your birthday meal e mail. I was made to feel awkward and unwelcome after saying I was there for my birthday. I had assumed that having my passport and replying to your e mail inviting me to book which I did, would have been enough. I then had to go home for my mobile phone for my booking to be honoured. I was not happy at the attitude of staff. A “thank you so much for going home for your phone” or even” happy birthday” would have been appreciated.

It is a shame that a lovely offer was spoilt by over officious system and the unwelcoming approach of some staff.

We booked here for an event after being here a few times and also being recommended to us. The event was for 22 people for afternoon tea. There was all kinds of issues, ie a very small amount of food, every single person was shocked at how little you got, sharing around 10/12 very small finger sandwiches (generous in saving 3 made a full sandwich up) between 5 people, a scone and a few miniature cakes on top you are charged £16pp for this. We were told there was no fish sandwiches so didn’t ask about allergy to fish, yet fish sandwiches turned up. A vegan was given ham sandwiches. The gluten free afternoon tea which had to be shared between people who weren’t gluten free surely you would have a gluten free stack and normal, not expecting others to pay for gluten free and eat it when they arent, they also had a sandwich that was just mashed avocado the whole filling was just avocado. Multiple times had to check allergy’s and the staff had no idea if it was correct or not. We ended up asking for more sandwiches and got given the cheapest option sandwiches ie cheese and onion and maybe 1 ham and tomato. We were generally sat waiting for the other 2 peoples afternoon tea to come out for a good 10 minute before realising that was it and only got brought was an extra 2 scones on a plate as only 3 fit on the tower. Overall is a lovely place but extremely let down by this, i would not recommend for an event or afternoon tea or if you have allergy’s as its not something they are able to cater for. We also went in separately to the event to go over allergies and spoke about it in emails in length. Its a shame we couldn’t fully enjoy the event because of the may issues we had.
