Care Home Manager very poor with communication. Almost non existent response for a written issue requiring a written reply. We received vague verbal dialogue and weak, non responsive comments demonstrating a failure to take ownership of issue.
This said and off my chest it is our experience the rest of the staff are excellent. Displaying friendliness and efficiency to residents and families with great ability to communicate with those having dementia problems.
The activities are also excellent and provide great interaction and mental stimulation. We and our extended family love and look forward to seeing pictures on Facebook which clearly show residents having a positive and fun time. It’s very comforting to see them enjoying themselves in their new home. 5 stars for you. ⭐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to you all.
PS – would have been 5 star if not for manager issue.

A family member was in this care home and it the worst I have come across. The manager is so rude and doesn’t like it when you complain about things that you have witnessed. Some staff are very rude when asking about family member however did come across some amazing staff. Said they do activities with residence but only certain people went on these and always the same one. Dinner serve on boiling hot plates that you need a towel to pick up I burnt myself on one when questioning it got told the trolley was broken however they still used it. All my nan got given to eat was sausages and mash twice a day for weeks. Meals are disgusting. If your Bedbound you get left for hours without being checked forget dinners then when ask for the dinner to be rudely told they will bring it then come with porridge. Nan had to go to hospital which they put someone else’s notes in and not her hospital was not impressed by this. Residence get put in their pyjamas from 3pm. Definitely would not recommend putting an animal in there let alone a family member.

The Thatcham team have been looking after my dad now since August 2024.
The team are great and attentive, especially the nursing staff.

I was very fortunate to visit a relative at this care home, being made very welcome upon entry by the lovely staff! The different sections are accessible, my relative has a large room with window views and parking is generally fine.
