I would like to thank the manager and all of the staff at Newbury Grove very much, for looking after my mother during her final months of life.
The standard of care was consistently excellent; my mother’s room was light and airy and kept spotlessly clean.
I was always kept informed of any changes in my mother’s health, and/or medication and GP visits and given enough time to make any decisions.
The staff made, what was a particularly emotionally fraught time, much easier due to their positive attitude, empathic approach, professionalism and attention to detail; and I am very happy to have made the decision to have entrusted them with my mother’s care.
Newbury Grove goes above and beyond to ensure that there are plenty of activities organised throughout the week, and although my mother had chosen not to get involved; her decision was respected.
I would not hesitate to recommend Newbury Grove to anyone wanting complete peace of mind for their parent or relative’s care.

My step-mum’s health has improved enormously since moving into Newbury Grove. From the very first visit, I had a strong feeling it would be the perfect place for her, and that has absolutely proven to be the case.
The residents are lovely, and the carers are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. What really stands out is how well they understand and respond to each individual’s needs. Nothing ever feels rushed or impersonal; they take the time to truly get to know every resident.
As a visitor, I’m always greeted with a friendly face, and it’s clear the staff know everyone by name, which creates such a warm and personal atmosphere. I especially appreciate how they respect each resident’s preferences and personality – there’s no pressure to join in activities, but there is always plenty going on for those who want to take part.
Another wonderful aspect is how much they encourage residents to make their rooms their own. It genuinely feels like a home, not just a care facility.
My step-mum loves the food, her room is always clean and well looked after, and everything is taken care of for her, giving her complete peace of mind.
I am truly blown away by the level of care, compassion, and attention shown by everyone who works there.

The team of carers, registered nurses, activity co-ordinators , catering, household & administrative staff are all first class, delivering consistent care & compassion. My mother was made to feel at home from day one, and we also as a family felt listened to and respected.

Visited Newbury Grove Care Home recently and was really impressed. The environment felt warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Newbury Grove to anyone looking for a caring and supportive setting.

Newbury Grove is a beautiful and exceptionally run care home, very caring and professional staff including their own on site registered nurses, you are always greeted with a friendly smile and conversation whenever visiting. As a family we first started looking for a suitable care home for our parents over 3 years ago (for whenever the time came) and Newbury Grove was one of the first care homes we visited after reading various reviews of the many care homes in our area but also because it is located within walking distance of Thatcham hospital, Thatcham garden centre and Newbury race course, all of which family have visited many times before, so our parents are familiar with the location. We decided to see Newbury Grove for ourselves and booked in for a tour to see what they had to offer which includes their own cafe/bistro, hair salon, cinema room, pub/bar room and well kept spacious central courtyard gardens, we also met many of the staff and residents along the way, staff retention is excellent and also important for loved ones to see familiar faces each day, we came away very impressed with what we had seen and experienced. We took our time and viewed many other care homes in our local area during the following years but we did not experience, in any of the other care homes that we visited, what Newbury Grove had to offer, it is an outstanding care home above and beyond anything else we experienced. Moving forward, mum has now been a permanent resident at Newbury Grove for 6 months now and has settled in very well and is thriving, with all new friends – staff included, and a whole new social life, she joins in with the many activities and events that are planned daily (which includes visits out in their minibus) she is happy, safe, and being well cared for and eats well with the excellent choice of healthy food on the menu. As a family we are so pleased that we came across Newbury Grove and to see that mum is happy, safe and being well looked after. We would highly recommend Newbury Grove as a first choice to anyone looking to place loved ones into care and would recommend booking a visit and see for yourself.
