Hill Brow Residential Care Home

Hill Brow is a wonderful care home full of kind and caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble and there is a wide range of interesting activities and outings.

At Foundations Physio, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside Woodlands and Hill Brow across all four of their residences for the past three years. During this time, we’ve built a strong, collaborative partnership centred around one shared goal: helping residents live healthier, happier, and more active lives.

Not all care providers choose to invest proactively in physiotherapy services, but Woodlands and Hill Brow truly understand the value of supporting mobility, independence, and overall well being. Their commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life is reflected in the way their care teams embrace our programmes and integrate our guidance into everyday care.

The team at Hill Brow Residential Home actively supports the delivery of both group exercise classes and one-to-one sessions, ensuring residents feel encouraged, empowered, and engaged. Together, we create opportunities for residents to maintain their independence, continue enjoying the activities they love, and feel their very best.

My mother had 2 weeks of respite care at Hill Brow nursing home in February of this year. She had been living at home with my younger brother for many years but had become very frail in her 92nd year and was needing more help with her activities of daily living. We placed Mum in the care of Hill Brow while we renovated the old house and organized for help with cleaning, carers and oversight by RDNS for when Mum came back.

I have to say that I was most impressed with Hill Brow from first to last. The managers were always very helpful and friendly, as were the staff. The home always looked nice and clean and was warmly heated in the middle of winter. My Mother was the archetypal feisty, independent elderly person who was NEVER going to a nursing home, not even for respite care. She was determined to be unhappy about her placement from the start. However … by day 2 of her stay she was won over by the staff by their kindness, gentle manner and respect for her particular ways. And by the end of the 2 weeks she didn’t want to leave!

Also, I am a registered nurse and my work involves liaising with residential care staff and visiting up to 50 nursing homes each year (in Australia). Whenever I visited I always had my ‘professional’ eyes on of course because you can’t help it but I was always reliably impressed with the care my Mum received and happy to see her content.

I would highly recommend Hill Brow.
