Wow, what can I say. I am so pleased we made the decision to move our Mum here. They have been incredible from start to finish, she is always chirpy and full of enthusiasm when we show up. We are forever grateful to the amazing staff. Thank you! Highly recommend.

An absolutely beautiful care home set in a stunning setting. The staff are very approachable and the care they give to residents is excellent. There are a wide range of activities available to the residents and the menu is varied and suitable for all. I always feel welcome when I visit the home and would highly recommend.

This care home presents itself beautifully and is a lovely environment if your relative is mobile, articulate, and able to participate in the wide range of activities on offer. There are regular trips out, plenty of entertainment, good food, and thoughtful treats for both residents and their visitors. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming for those who can engage more independently.

However, if your relative requires a higher level of care—particularly for mobility issues, communication difficulties, or feeding—this may not be the right setting. In our experience, the staff lacked proper training in lifting and moving residents safely, which sadly led to multiple falls and drops for my grandmother. She was often left without the support she needed to eat or drink, which resulted in her becoming malnourished, dehydrated, and developing untreated bed sores. Despite being continent, she was incorrectly placed in nappies and labeled as incontinent.

We also provided communication tools specifically designed to support her ability to express herself, but these were not used by staff. Instead, they relied on her first verbal response—often a default “yes”—even when it was clear this wasn’t what she meant. This led to confusion, unmet needs, and further distress for her.

Since moving to a new care home with better-trained staff, my grandmother has made remarkable progress. With proper support during meals, she has regained her ability to swallow, has put on weight, no longer requires nappies, and has had no accidents. Her communication has also improved, and she’s now able to express herself more clearly in single words.

In summary, while this care home may suit more independent residents, it is not equipped to provide the level of care and attention needed by those who are more vulnerable or have complex needs.
