Had the most amazing meal at Aurum this evening. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, especially our waiter Shahab, although we were helped by several members of the team. They were all great. As for the food… wow. Starters delicious, mains thoroughly enjoyable, and the passionfruit cheesecake was easily the best dessert I have had in a long while. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal in all aspects. Thanks to all the team. We will be back.

Aurum Bar & Grill is a fantastic addition to Berkhamsted. The restaurant has been beautifully redesigned, creating a stylish, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in.
We started with the calamari and king prawns, and both were absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. For our main course, we had the mixed grill kebab and the ribeye steak. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and were among the best we’ve had.
I also really liked the layout of the restaurant. The dining area at the back is ideal for a relaxed meal, the central bar creates a lively atmosphere for drinks, and the outdoor seating at the front is perfect for enjoying food or cocktails on a sunny day.
What truly made the experience special was the staff. Everyone was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our visit.
Overall, Aurum Bar & Grill delivers excellent food, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back. Well deserved 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Both the food and service were good but the menu is limited and wouldn’t entice us back in a hurry. Meat and rice is OK but not very exciting. We really miss the pre cinema menu offered by The Gatsby as this was such good value for a quick meal before going to the cinema. Paying over £100 for a quick bite to eat for two people before the cinema is not something we would do on a regular basis. Aurum needs to offer a good value menu for pre cinema diners and offer a more varied menu.

From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the venue’s breathtaking charm. The building itself is a stunning piece of history, with intricate details that tell a story in every corner.
We were warmly greeted by the attentive staff, who promptly guided us to our table. The service was impeccable from start to finish.
The starters set the tone for an incredible dining experience—fresh, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. By the time the mains arrived, we were so eager to dive in that we forgot to take a picture—but trust us, they were just as exceptional. The desserts? Simply out of this world.
The ambiance is both authentic and elegant, making it an ideal setting for weddings, birthday celebrations, and special occasions. Plus, there’s plenty of nearby parking and easy access via train.
A truly unforgettable experience—we can’t wait to return!

Came here on a beautiful sunny day and sat outside on the terrace. Before I get to the positives my only negative is that the terrace is sloped and so the tables are also pretty uneven. To improve this they should invest in some table straighteners, however as everything else was at such a high standard, it didn’t ruin the meal. We came here on a recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. The building is steeped in history going back to the creation of Peter Pan and as soon as you enter, you’re instantly transported back to the 30’s. The service from our waitress was superb. She was very helpful, attentive and friendly and the food was absolutely stunning. It’s not the cheapest place in the world but the quality of food does match the price and for an occasion we couldn’t fault it. We came for our 22nd wedding anniversary and it will be one to remember due to the quality of the restaurant. If you’re thinking of booking, don’t hesitate, they won’t let you down.
