Beware of the church supported parking scam.The church will make sure their debt collectors civil enforcement harass you for money if you are unaware about the need to register your car on arrival.Regardless of visiting the church for it’s intended reasons,there is nothing they will do and just want your money.This car park has always been empty and for some reason they have just introduced this money making scam.This is very un-Christian,lacks common sense and damaging behaviour to the Catholic Church.They don’t need more reasons for people to be moving away from the church.

So beautiful and peaceful with beautiful pictures and art, and it beautiful holy rood, over the main altar the picture of the world famous icon of our lady of perpetual help, hanging above the scarcity, abundant parking.

Very welcoming parish. I went there to pray and attended morning prayers and Mass, which is followed by Our Lady Of Perpetual Succour Novena on Tuesday. All members were kind and welcoming. Beautiful singing as well.

I lived in Berkhamsted in the eighties and this was my parish. I discovered many in the community were still traumatised from the strong anti-Catholic abuse endured right into the sixties, stones being thrown at the smaller building used as a temporary church until S.H. was built and curses shouted at Catholics coming out of it. It explained to me, coming from Africa, why everyone was so reserved. Even the Easter morning procession around the grounds was very low key! Hope they are all much more evangelistic these days. The church was locked up outside Mass in the eighties too, because of experiences of vandalism and theft.

A beautiful church conducive to prayer There is a lovely lawn and a path that leads to a statue of Our Lady. A beautiful setting for prayer and contemplation. Shame though that this church and most churches are locked up when there is no service.
