Excellent service from start to finish. We’ve used the optician for my 11-year-old’s eye tests, glasses and contact lenses, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the staff were always incredibly helpful, polite and patient.
The whole process was made easy and stress-free, which is especially appreciated when dealing with a child. The free parking is a real bonus, and the fact that there are no stairs makes it very accessible.
A fantastic, friendly and professional service — highly recommended!

This is my experience at John Kaye Opticians whilst supporting my elderly mother who has slight sight impairment due to Macular Degeneration.
I can thoroughly recommend this Opticians.
I supported my mother by taking her into John Kayes so she could look around at the array of frames and to see if she felt comfortable with obtaining a new Opticians. We witnessed friendly interactions with customers; knowledgeable advice on the benefits of certain types of frames etc. No sales pitches just information when asked.
My Mum, who had previously experienced prescribed spectacles from Specsavers which did very little to enhance her sight problems , decided this is a good Opticians and wanted to make an appointment then and there. Appointment made and 5 days later we were back at John Kayes. A friendly welcome at reception and then we met Mohammed. He asked if I would like to join my Mum and I thanked him for suggesting that as I was about to ask if I could as my Mum is sometimes hard of hearing. A new customer so lots and lots of questions asked about medication/health/issues etc. Again not rushed and much patience displayed when my mum would sometimes be forgetful or correct what she had just said!. I will skim over the time spent with Mohammed only because he worked tirelessly with the various lenses and wall charts until he and Mum felt they had achieved the best lenses for her poor eyesight. Amazing to watch Mohammed at work and to see him smile and say to my Mum ‘we are getting there’.
Time spent with Hayley was invaluable as Mohammed spoke with Hayley in advance about Mum and her lens prescription and Hayley advised my mum on the kind of frames which would help my Mum the most I.e. not the frames that have the clips at the nose. Hayley explained why a certain type of frame would benefit my Mum and her sight.
My mum chose her frames (no rush) and advice was given on eye drops/wipes/eye heat pad. No sales push just pure knowledge shared and advice given.
My mum has received her glasses and catching up with her yesterday she confirmed she can definitely see better with both pairs of spectacles than she ever has done before with new glasses from Specsavers. My mother said ‘it is strange how I do not need to just get used them, which is what Specsavers used to say to me when I had trouble using their glasses. I have definitely found a very good Opticians’.

After many years of ignoring my increasingly uncooperative eyesight I had decided it was finally time for me to get my eyes tested.
I was considering one of the high street chain opticians. My partner has been using John Kaye for a couple of years and recommended them highly.
The whole experience was great. The greeting on arrival was nice. The testing was very thorough and informative.
It was established that I had a need for reading glasses. The selection and fitting of suitable frames was made easy by one of the ladies at the front of the shop (I think her name was Hayley).
The collection and final check of my new glasses was smooth with some additional maintenance guidance given.
I would highly recommend this team to anyone who is thinking of having their eyesight tested.

The service I received here was none other than phenomenal.
The eye test went above and beyond anything I expected, the examiner explained everything he was doing and filled me every bit of confidence.
When it came to choosing my glasses the lady knew my face more than I did, her knowledge was exceptional she was clear with my options like coatings, vari focals etc… and she helped me choose 2 pairs of glasses which I love with free adjustments when I need it.
My glasses were ready in just over a week and your lovely receptionist took my payment and made sure I was comfortable with them.
It pays to pay a little extra, sublime.

I have been going to John Kaye for many years as have my family. I always find them to be the best from the greeting received from the Reception team who are always happy to chat to the Optician Mr Muhummed Merali who is extremely knowledgeable. He carries out a thorough eye and health checks and takes endless time to get the best possible results. Then spends time to explain the outcome. Hayley spends time helping and recommending frames from the large selection available that suit you. She is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Nothing is too much trouble and I am always very pleased with my new glasses. Any problems are easily rectified and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. There is free parking available outside and no stairs.
