To begin with I have to say this is more a review on the Bamberg beer festival that took place at this venue than the place itself.
Bedford is twinned with Bamberg, a lovely German city in Bavaria and beer wise is famous for its smoked beer, Shlenkerla.
That alone was for me at least a compelling reason to pay a visit to the festival, I have visited Bamberg itself and had a taste of its beers at the Shlenkerla brewery.
I was not disappointed as there was an enjoyable nice selection of German beers, shlenkerla included, fresh food prepared at a barbecue and life music from a brass band that has been present throughout the history of this event and that travels all the way from Bamberg.
I gave only four stars as the Shlenkerla ran out on Saturday after midday, obviously a miscalculation of the organisers due to the success of it, easy fix for the furure. Everything else was well organised and beer was nicely priced for being imported ones. A wonderful time all together.

Lovely building but the acoustics are awful. Saw a gig here once, it was unlistenable, attended some speeches the other day, also very poor sound. The walls need covering for these kind of events
