Elderly Home Support – Independent Living Advisers

At some point in our life we are likely to face the panic and intensive stress of trying to help our elderly relatives continue to live independently or find somewhere where they can be safe and cared for the way we wish we could help them. This is how Cecila and her team were able to help both me and my loved one.

I found myself in this situation as a Legal Power of Attorney for my god mother, she lived in East Grinstead and I lived at least 2.5 hours away in the Midlands. Thankfully my god mother was already being supported by Cecilia and her team. We were able to rely on Cecila to find the additional carer needed to do the things that social care don’t provide ie someone who could do the shopping, cleaning and every day life things that any human being needs to live. This additional support was so important to my god mother as she was able to build a relationship with someone she could rely on, someone who was interested in her and her well being and who actually cared about what was important to her. Depending on finances we were able to have the same person visit at least once a week for 2 hours, these 2 hours were so important to help my god mother feel as though she was able to live independently and had the support to do so.

As for helping me – I found myself suddenly in a situation I had no idea what to do, who to contact and how to make things happen. Cecila is an absolute gem at being able to listen and understand my situation, advise and guide me in the right direction. Everything was new to me. The caring and benefits system is so complex, my stress levels were so high, my time so limited and I felt lost and helpless. If it wasn’t for Cecilia I too may have ended up in a hospital or care home!!!!

As I live 200 miles away from my elderly uncle with dementia, I found Cecilia’s services extremely helpful. She went above and beyond her remit to help . I felt confident knowing that when problems arose she would , and did, respond quickly. This type of service is invaluable, especially to anyone who lives far away from their family.
