Great experience at my eye test. All the staff were pleasant and professional and smiling! The option Kalpana was fabulous, explained everything well and made me laugh. Also as my vision hadn’t changed she didn’t try to insist I needed new glasses. I also had a pair that needing fixing and the service was amazing, very friendly and didn’t have to wait long. Couldn’t ask for a better experience today.

Right from the moment I entered the store, I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. One of the staff members even helped my to carry my pushchair up the stairs in store and then back down again after my appointment. The colleague who completed my eye test (Kalpana) was very nice, talking me through the entire process. The colleague who helped me find my new glasses (Rosie) was very friendly, offering her opinion on which glasses she felt were the best fit for me. She seemed very knowledgeable when recommending extras (e.g. the anti glare coating) and I had a lovely time talking to her.

I have used Specsavers for many years and have always been satisfied. It was particularly pleasant on this occasion as it was a very hot day and walking into the air-conditioned space was very pleasant. I was a little concerned as to the outcome, because i have had cataracts developing for a while and my left eye is now quite badly affected. The Optometrist (Rhoda) was very professional, patient and courteous and spent extra time on that eye, placing atropine drops so as to dilate the pupil and re-examining the problem. She explained that the cataract in that eye had developed quickly in the last 12 months and has referred me to CHEC for surgery (appointment already offered and accepted. No change of current prescription appropriate at present.

I had an excellent experience at Specsavers Basingstoke and would like to thank both Mamatha (Spectacle Dispense) and Nimesh (Optician) for their outstanding service.
Mamatha, the dispensing staff, went above and beyond to help me find the right glasses. My fitting was particularly challenging because none of the available frames seemed to sit correctly on my face, and the size I initially chose was too loose. She was incredibly patient, took the time to carefully adjust the frames, and made sure they fitted comfortably and securely. Her attention to detail and commitment to finding the best solution for me were truly impressive.
In addition, Mamatha took the time to explain me the current offers and promotions available at Specsavers helping me understand the options and guided me in choosing a prescription pair of sunglasses that best suited my needs. Her advice was genuinely helpful, and I am very pleased with the choice I made, thanks to her recommendations.
Nimesh, the optician, was equally exceptional. He carried out a very thorough eye examination, carefully checked the prescription in my old glasses, and explained the differences between my old and new prescriptions in a clear and understandable way. He took the time to ensure I was comfortable with the changes and answered all my questions professionally and patiently.
The level of care, expertise, and customer service provided by both Mamatha and Nimesh was outstanding. They made me feel valued as a customer and ensured I left with glasses that fit well and a prescription I fully understood. Thank you both for such a positive experience – you are a real credit to Specsavers Basingstoke.

I was greeted by shanaw, who was extremley polite and completed my digital retinal photography. Then i met Sima who equally was very polite and completed my eye test , she thoroughly explained the results and clearly explained everything and advised on some eye drops. Then i met lovely Kyra , who was very patient , i did not expect to have to choose glasses and came to realise very quickly i didn’t suite the frames i liked . She helped me to find a pair which suited me and i really appreciate her trying as i just didn’t have any idea but she found a pair and i have had many compliments at work regarding them. Then Uche helped with specatcle dispense , she was very kind, i felt awful as was unsure with my sunglasses but she took time with me and reasssured me. Then i cannot remenber the lovely lady who helped when i collected my glasses, she has shoulder length hair and glasses , equally very nice and helpful . All these staff menbers i encountered were professional and polite and i was so grateful for their time and expertise and based on this i would return and recommend Specsavers.
