Ashbrook, were responsible for overseeing my wonderful mothers funeral. As a family we live in Hampshire but were recommended and we were impressed, throughout. I am not one to provide feedback but feel compelled to do this now.

David Wooden was our main point of contact and he was highly professional and faultless throughout.

I realise we live out of their normal area but this did not present an issue for us, it was a little drive to go and visit her a couple of days after she died but we made this a family occasion.

Ashbrook, visited my mum when she was still alive but terminal and asked her what she wanted, they were kind, considerate and made such an awful conversation so much more bearable, they were professional and the funeral was yesterday, they fulfilled her wishes right to the very final committal, she wanted a church service then cremation. We could not be more pleased, mum got what she wanted but so much more and I hope she would have been delighted.

When my mum died at home, they arrived to collect her body within 40 minutes of our call, we could not believe it when they walked in respect, by the side of the van, as she left her driveway for the last time. Daily, they went in to check on her as my mum hated being on her own, they told her about the latest political news and even the footy and reported back to us on occasion that she was okay, this helped us to know she was being looked after and was not just left on her own with uncaring strangers.

We went to visit her, their place of business is really nice, I was pleased my mum was somewhere she herself would find lovely. I was astounded, she looked beautiful, this gave us such a sense of wellbeing in such a dire situation, she looked so well looked after and at peace. She chose the most simplistic bamboo casket which was of her choosing, it was beautiful, she loved lovely baskets and this was outstanding.

The hearse and limousine were extremely smart, beautifully clean, the leaving of her home with mum was respectful, dignified and we could not have asked for more. The pallbearers were faultless as they carried my mum into and out of the church.

When she left the church, we did not go to the crematorium but she was escorted there by the same people who had been popping in to say hello and looking after her, at the funeral home.

She had her hand held every step of the way, they played her final song at the committal and were with her, until they were no longer allowed to stay. They returned with the limousine to the wake, updated us about how the final part went, assured us that her wishes were followed through and waited until we were ready to leave and dropped us home.

Our mum was the most precious person to us all and we felt that the entire process of organising the funeral, her dying and the funeral would have been so much harder without such tremendous support. We felt assured our mum was looked after throughout and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the service which we were provided, it was nothing but superb.

Thank you for making one of the worst occurrences in my life that much more bearable for us all, thank you for taking a lot of the work out of the event when our heads were all over the place and for looking after my mum, when I, we, were no longer able to.
