Live in near Colchester now but always travel back to the Pitsea store for my check up. No nonsense and great service. Don’t try and con you.

Not a huge range of options, but the sevice location is very helpful and the staff are too. Vision express is a little expensive but the spectacles feel premium. Given you’d need them every day, it’s worth the investment. They accept eye med vouchers from organisations that require you in front of a desk. They do not recycle your old spectacles though, which would be a good improvement.

No issues during appointments as staff are nice. Booking the appointment online is poor since the system books you for an eye test and contact lense appointment but only one slot gets booked. Best to book over the phone as its more reliable.
MAJOR ISSUE: Opthamologist recommended eye drops during appointment which was not the issue, the issue being that it was pressed after the appointment. I had stated that I’m not interested but was shown anyway. We embarrassingly got to the point that I was at the desk being offered it which I still had no interest in paying for overly priced eye drops. In future, recommendations shouldn’t be pressed this hard. It potentially pushes the customer away from your service.

I honestly could’ve went for a 0 rating if I could. I used to love going here with my son, the first time i went they was very professional and kind but the second time I went was horrible and disgusting therefore i will not be coming there again. First and foremost I booked an appointment on the 9th of March and they told me I could see them on the 19th. They have never booked an appointment that long before so I was confused but thought nothing about it. When it was the day we was suppose to come to the place i received a message form them telling me to come at 4:30 instead of 4:25. We arrived just 3 minutes late, I asked my son if he could enter the place while I try to park my car. Once he was in there the staff members told him he was supposed to arrive at 4:25 and even so he tried telling them they booked for 4:30 they still wouldn’t acknowledge the fact they made that error. So my son told me this situation and I had to come in there myself as i was anyways. I told them that the time they put was incorrect and they just started talking rubbish telling me that my son was not of age to be able to come and speak to them about the appointment we made knowing full well they knew how old he was and knew that I was coming in there with him. Not only did they make that mistake and took no credibility for it they were also very ignorant and commanding its almost as if they was being racist. I asked again if I could rebook and they said I could book on the 3rd of April. Are you having a laugh? After waiting 10 days! and no apology you still want me to wait that long no chance. I even tried calling them again to tell them if my son could get new glasses as he lost his old one and the lady of the phone tried to play it off saying the phone line was cracking then cut the call on purpose. I feel so angry right now personally I would not recommend people go to an optician inside a supermarket because they have the worst service ever. I dont recommend going this shop particularly because of the way I had to wait so long just for nothing in the end.
