Cottage Stores Florist

We used Cottage Stores Florist recently for my father’s funeral flowers and were very impressed with the service from start to finish.

Their website made the selection process very straightforward with clear photographs of the arrangements under the “Funerals” heading. What we chose online was exactly what was delivered on the day — if anything, they were even more impressive. Pricing was also very fair and competitive compared to other florists we considered.

The staff were particularly helpful and accommodating. I specifically wanted lilies that would be open on the day. (A note for others: if you want the same, it’s worth ordering at least two weeks in advance, as I didn’t realise this initially and left it a little late.) Unlike other florists who would have needed to order unopened lilies and could not guarantee they would be fully open in time, Cottage Stores Florist already had them in stock and gave me confidence they would do everything possible to have them open. On the day, I was surprised at how many lilies were open and thought how well the florist had done. The lillies formed a striking part of the arrangement, along with the golden yellow roses I had chosen from their website. I had originally intended an all-white arrangement but the yellow roses were a perfect addition. They brought a warm, uplifting touch to what was a sunny and peaceful celebration of life. When the hearse door was opened, the aroma from the flowers was absolutely amazing.

At the cemetery, the flowers were carefully lifted from the coffin and placed on the ground nearby. Many attendees commented on them and took photographs – even my brother remarked on how beautiful they were. We each then took a yellow rose from the arrangement and gently cast it into the grave as a final farewell. So the flowers played a meaningful and significant part in the service.

We were quoted a price of £60 per letter by our funeral director. I decided to shop around and went to Cottage Stores. They were half of the price. We were able to see their work first hand as they had an order for a funeral in the store. We were absolutely over the moon with what they had created. I phoned to tell them so too. They delivered family/friends flowers to our house but direct family flowers to the funeral directors. We chose to pick the flowers up from the crematorium and bring them home afterwards. They have been in our garden for nearly 3 weeks and are still looking good. The cold wet weather has obviously helped. We would highly recommend cottage stores for future orders. Thank you so much.
