In summary they waste people’s time and are a joke of a service. Total runaround and zero honesty.
I am incredibly disappointed with the Community Furniture Project. I wanted to donate several items as i am moving home and they don’t fit. I sent them photos of all including the large sectional leather sofa in advance, but when the drivers turned up today, they refused to take it, claiming it “looked like it had been sat on mostly on one side.”
Here is the kicker: I literally bought this exact sofa from their own shop three years ago. It is in perfectly good, usable condition, normal wear and tear(leather creases), no stains or tears. And ironically, the sofas currently sitting on their showroom floor are in far worse shape than this one.
To make matters worse, nobody will take accountability:
The drivers claimed they sent photos to HQ and that HQ told them to reject it.
They only took the smaller items, night stand, table, coffe table.
When I actually went to HQ to ask, they shifted the blame right back, claiming it is entirely the drivers’ decision.
It is blindingly obvious that the drivers just didn’t want the hassle of lifting and shifting a large item. Instead of being upfront, they played the blame game and left me completely stranded, forcing me to figure out last-minute disposal on the “last mile” of clearing the space.
If they prefer not to take large items, they should just be honest from the very beginning instead of wasting people’s time and causing massive, unnecessary problems. They are clearly not the community-focused organization they claim to be. Would not recommend.

I thought it was good at first I bought a bike first time I rode it pedal fell off and now the steering is messed up they say they make their bike safe but it really isn’t safe don’t buy a bike from here some may be better than others but mine really was bad it’s not good I was expecting the bike to be in good order obviously it should be safe I wasn’t expecting it to be perfect but it shouldn’t off not had a pedal that fell off and the steering should be good like it should turn really badly and the reason why the pedal fell off it’s because they threaded it so it was all messed up I’ll show you what the steering looks like I tried to turn the bike and the steering the wheel can’t really weirdly I’ll show you what it looks like but it shouldn’t have done that I could have got seriously hurt if I wouldn’t faster

This is a truly well run and organised place. Items are well presented, in good condition and well organised and at very affordable prices. I needed 2 small cabinets delivered which went seamlessly and exactly to plan.

A very nice variety of good quality furniture and more. I would rate it higher, but it seems quite disorganised – I bought a nice desk and arranged for it to be delivered. The same desk was then taken by mistake by another customer, despite being separated from the rest and having my name on it. I was called and offered full refund, which is nice, but still a shame that this could happen.
Edit: Went to sort out the refund and went very smoothly. The situation was really out of their hands (the fault of the other customer), and they tried everthing they could to sort it. Safe to say it doesn’t happen often, and that outside of this the place is very good.
