We were really hesitant about sending our lovely Mummy to this care home as she had lived in the countryside for 90 years and we were concerned about how she would adapt. Mum sadly had significant mobility issues and dementia and as a family we could no longer cope and provide the 24/7 care she needed and the 2 to 1 support required. The respect, dignity and care provided by the team at Westbourne was outstanding. Mum sadly passed away in Westbourne and the compassion shown by the carers brought comfort and strength in our darkest of times. The staff are the unsung heroes in a sector that is financially challenged and were worth their weight in gold. As a family, we can’t thank the team enough. I would never hesitate sending my loved ones there again.

This use to be a great care home but the standards have seriously gone down hill and you couldn’t pay me to send someone there. The floor staff are lovely but beyond that the attitudes are appalling and have little to no clue about care needs and what good care actually looks like.
If you are okay with your relative dying early then this is the place to go.
My Father had a heart attack 30 years ago and since been on a heart healthy diet and had no issues. Stayed at a size medium and a healthy weight.
Despite me voicing concerns repeatedly I was told he could eat what he wanted, which he couldn’t afford to do. (I was his LPA and was ignored)
He went from a medium to a 2XL and was classified as morbidly obese but apparently they could manage his care needs.
He died of a massive heart attack, dropping dead on the floor. They took him from us far too soon.

The staff at Westbourne Care Home are exceptional. My nonna (grandmother) currently resides here and I had a chance to visit from the US and I was so impressed. Everyone was so lovely and she is so well taken care of.

Sadly they have seriously gone down in my opinion. The lack of willingness to assist in goals, the lack of attention to needs and lack of effort in activities and keeping people active.
Now that the Manager is leaving my trust goes too.
