My dad has stayed here a few times now on respite care and hes booked to go in again soon . . After spending many yrs working in care homes myself and also visiting different homes i was very anxious leaving my dad in any care home due to very negative experiances in the
past . When i needed dad to stay somewhere and i found royal court i was of course worried but we visited and i couldnt of been happier , not just with how bright clean and fresh it was but also with how all the staff bent over backwards to be welcoming . Dad had to stay the first time for 4 weeks and the level of care they gave him was fantastic , he was so well looked after and i was welcome to turn up anytime. I was even offered lunch or tea if i was there at mealtimes . This is the only home i would want my dad to stay permantly which sadly that time isnt far away. unfortunately at the present time they are only taking private patients 😪 but im keeping everything crossed that this changes as i know my dad would be happy here . So well done Royal Court . You all can be assured if im singing their praises then its a great home gor your relatives as i dont give reviews lightly .

My wife was at Royal Court from Sept‘25 to Jan’26. Our experience was distressing and unacceptable. There were safeguarding failures with 2 assaults by another resident, and no effective action taken to prevent the 2nd. There were repeated failures in basic standards of care. Clothing and belongings went missing, leaving my wife improperly dressed. Housekeeping was often poor and maintenance issues not resolved. Personal care was neglected, with diet, medical, grooming and foot care issues. Communication was particularly difficult for a dementia resident. Many staff, especially Agency workers, didn’t converse clearly in English. Overall, we experienced poor management, inadequate safeguarding, and a lack of professionalism. My wife has moved to a care home where standards are vastly better. I’ve rated 2-Stars because of mitigating points. Despite pressures, most staff were very kind, and the CEO also acknowledged the seriousness of my complaint with a significant refund of fees paid.

under staffed,,poor quality of cleanliness..expected to look after 10 residents on our own .no time to bath residents as they have to be up dressed and breakfast done all in a couple of hours..the residents are only allowed a cup of tea at certain times unless they go to their own room and make one them self..most of the residents have dementia, and cannot lift a kettle,,only one lift has been working for the last month..the home stinks of urine, and can do with a good spruce up.some of the carers are rough handed, and need more training in care.some residents leave the home unaware of the staff.then have to be brought back by the police as they are confused and lost..this is due to them knowing the combination to the door..this should be changed for the safety of the residents who have dementia.bells are being ignored by staff, as some simply cannot be bothered to answer thinking that the resident does not need a toilet or anything else..hence one resident had fallen out of her chair onto the floor and was there 25 minutes before help arrived for her,,she had hurt her arm. she wanted a paracetamol but was refused,so she had to suffer..need i go on???
